Amaravati May 2, 2025 : PM Narendra Modi will make a significant visit to Andhra Pradesh, where he will launch numerous development projects aimed at boosting the state’s progress. This visit includes the laying of the foundation stone for 74 projects worth ₹49,000 crore, and the unveiling of several others, totaling an investment of over ₹58,000 crore.
Among the key projects are the construction of the new Assembly, Secretariat, and High Court, as well as residential quarters for judicial officials. These institutions are critical for establishing a functional and efficient capital city in Amaravati, which has been under development since the foundation was first laid back in 2015.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala, which represents a significant milestone in India’s maritime capabilities. This port, built at a cost of ₹8,867 crore, is the first semi-automated port in the country and is designed to enhance India’s global trade efficiency.
In his remarks during the inauguration, PM Modi will likely emphasize the importance of these projects in providing better infrastructure and services to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Following the celebrations, he will return to Gannavaram Airport in the late afternoon to continue his journey back to New Delhi.
This visit is especially meaningful as it marks the revival of Amaravati’s construction, symbolizing hope and development for many residents of the state. Local leaders, including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, express optimism that with these developments, Amaravati will become a modern, world-class capital that meets the aspirations of its citizens.
Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy highlighted that the reconstruction of Amaravati symbolizes a new chapter for Andhra Pradesh, aiming to create pride among its people.
