Possible Cancellation of IPL 2025 Due to Tensions

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is carefully looking at the situation regarding IPL 2025. They are thinking about whether to continue the matches because of rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Arun Dhumal, the IPL chairman, stated that they are monitoring things closely and have not received any directions from the government yet. They want to make a decision that is best for everyone involved.

The worries increased after a recent IPL match between the Punjab Kings and the Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was suddenly stopped because of air raid alerts in nearby areas like Jammu and Pathankot. The game was already delayed because of rain and was stopped when the score was 122 runs for 1 wicket in 10.1 overs. What was initially thought to be a problem with the stadium lights turned out to be a security issue. Players and fans were evacuated from the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium for safety. The stadium was almost full, with about 80% of its 23,000 seats occupied. Officials reported that the evacuation went smoothly and there was no panic, though some fans did shout anti-Pakistan slogans as they left.

When asked about the next match scheduled between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Lucknow, Dhumal said it is still planned to take place but they are keeping an eye on the situation.
