Hyderabad, May 2, 2025 – The Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana, Jitender, held a meeting with police officials on Friday to discuss security plans for the upcoming Miss World pageant. This year’s event, the 72nd edition, will take place in Telangana, with the opening and closing ceremonies in Hyderabad.
The DGP mentioned that about 120 countries will participate, and so far, representatives from 116 nations have confirmed their attendance. Contestants will arrive in the coming days and will tour various important tourist sites around the state, including the Ramappa Temple and Buddhavanam.
During the meeting, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of the Miss World pageant for enhancing Telangana’s global image. He insisted on strong security measures to ensure the safety of contestants and guests.
To manage security, a centralized control system will be set up, and the Telangana police are committed to showcasing their efficiency during the event. The police officials also communicated with local commissioners and superintendents across the state through video conference to ensure everything is in place.
Additionally, drone usage around the Miss World venues in Hyderabad is prohibited until June 2, 2025.
